Lekan "Lakky" Adeniran, Head Coach & Founder
Lekan “Coach Lakky” Adeniran is the Head Coach and Founder of Tennis Is Life Academy. He was born and raised in Ibadan, Nigeria and started his tennis career as a ball boy at Ibadan Recreation Club at the age of 11. In 2001, he moved to Lagos to follow his tennis ambitions.
Lekan’s career in coaching began in Madrid, Spain under Professor José Antonio, Tennis Course Director of the Madrid Tennis Federation. He has coached in different primary schools and offered lessons as a volunteer at the Madrid Tennis Federation between the years 2010-2012. Lekan is now certified with a B-Coach license from the Deutschland Tennis Bund (DTB) in addition to various coaching and workshop certifications.
Lekan coaches more than 100 of all level players every season, both kids and adults, including ITF, UTR, Performance, High Performance, College, and High School players. His passion, coaching interactions, teaching methods, positive energy, and fun personality make his coaching style truly unique.
Coach Lakky has worked with players that came to him with no prior experience and turned them into highly competitive athletes, all while growing and maintaining their love and passion for the sport. His coaching has contributed to developing players and champions for the American tennis teams in the area, such as Ramstein and Kaiserslautern High Schools. He also continually coaches and builds up players for the German Regional Club Leagues.
At Tennis Is Life Academy, all players are treated equally. Lekan encourages interaction both on and off the court and is accessible at any time to offer help or provide information.
Lexi Weeber, Assistant Coach
Lexi Weeber comes to us from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She grew up playing tennis with her Dad and started competing when she went to Lancaster Catholic High School. Lexi went on to college at California University of PA and created a Tennis Club for her school while there. She ran practices and arranged tournaments against other schools such as Penn State, WVU and Pitt. Following college, Lexi continued to compete through numerous USTA Leagues. She holds a 4.0 USTA ranking and has played for a 4.0 and 4.5 women’s team, women’s tri-level team, and a 9.0 mixed doubles team. She helped her 4.0 and 9.0 teams win leagues and continue on to compete in Sectionals at Princeton University. We welcomed Lexi to Tennis Is Life Academy in 2021 where she now assists Lekan with coaching some of the students. Her favorite part of coaching is seeing the students create the same love for tennis and see their vast improvements.
